Google Analytics / SEO Analyst

As a periscopeUP Google Analytics / SEO Analyst, you will utilize knowledge web stats, search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click (PPC), and social media campaigns, to evaluate and improve traffic, rankings, and conversions on client websites. You will be instrumental in helping clients develop and execute their online marketing strategy and generating more leads and sales from their websites and microsites. You will work with clients across the country, and team members across the globe.

This is a flex-time, work from home position, starting at 10-20 hours per week, with the option to increase hours up to work full time.

Responsibilities

  • Track SERPs and strategize on methods to improve SERP rankings
  • Regularly review clients’ websites, microsites, and social media properties for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and develop recommendations to improve SERPs, traffic and conversions.
  • Monitor & analyze dozens of sites and prepare weekly internal reports and monthly client reports based on set KPI.
  • Dive deep into web stat data to analyze trends, answer questions and create ad-hoc reports.
  • Keyword research and ongoing analysis of SEO, PPC, and social media campaigns
  • Work with account managers and clients to develop effective plans to improve traffic and conversions
  • Conduct split and A/B testing and analysis of landing pages
  • Develop competitive site analysis/gap analysis
  • Analyze and translate quantitative and qualitative data from web analytics tool into actionable tasks and plans
  • Keep up to date on the latest search engine trends.
  • Regularly report progress to management.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal procedures, documentation, and  best practices.
  • Attend and occasionally lead client meetings and conference calls.
  • Provide support on business development initiatives, including assist in preparing proposals and scopes of work.
  • Support the implementation of Google Analytics on client websites, including goal tracking, ecommerce tracking, cross domain tracking, and advanced reporting.
  • Coordinate with client IT personnel and/or other website stakeholders to troubleshoot resolve any technical issues related to Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, SERP tracking tools, etc
  • Continually monitor SEO and webmaster trends, current events, and provide proactive insights to internal teams and clients.

Experience and Skills Requirements

Qualified candidates will be entrepreneurial, self-motivated and have a positive attitude. You must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

  • Deep familiarity with web statistics, particularly Google Analytics and other online metrics programs. Must be able to interpret data and build action plans based on those interpretations.
  • Must be able to analyze key shifts in SEO best practices, determine what they mean for our campaigns, and communicate a course of action.
  • Knowledge of current search engine optimization best practices, tools, and strategies
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects, work with various creative and technical teams, and deliver against deadlines
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of website usability, design, development, and production practices.
  • Past experience as an analyst on an ecommerce or B2C site a plus
  • Ability to set priorities, take personal responsibility, and communicate issues.
  • Work well with with distributed teams, including employees, and domestic and foreign web developers, designers, analysts, link builders, hosting & DNS services, etc
  • Able to use Basecamp to manage projects, timelines, and communication
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and technology quickly.
  • Proactive & constantly seeking ways to improve yourself & procedures.
  • Interest in business, Internet marketing, and people
  • Understand that “everybody sells.”
  • Strong analytical skills and use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prepare client presentations
  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Must be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation

  • Compensation commensurate with experience.
